It is currently November, also known in the writing community as National Novel Writing Month, wherein writers attempt to write 1,667 words per day, to end up with 50,000 by the end of the month.
In other news, I’m exhausted and very stressed.
My work in progress currently has 17,162 words as of day 10. I am a third of the way through the month, a third of the way through my target word count, and not nearly a third of the way through the book.
This isn’t really an advice post or anything. I just wanted to let you all know where I’ve been, what I’ve been up to, why I’m largely silent this month, and how NaNo is going for me so far. If you’re doing NaNo this year, good luck to you. If you’re friends with or the family of someone doing NaNo, good luck to you, as well, and you are the kind of hero I can only dream to be.
Like I said, this is a short post. Good luck, have fun, don’t worry too hard about your word count, and whatever you do, just keep writing.
